My name is Dave Bishop, I am a Nottingham guitar teacher offering guitar lessons and guitar tuition. I am based in the East Midlands Long Eaton Nottinghamshire, just of junction 25 M1 (half way between Derby and Nottingham City Centres). My guitar tuition services cover the following areas:

Below is a list of the types of tuition available and to what level:
- Electric Guitar – All Styles Beginners to Advanced (including London college of music grades and exam tuition)
- Acoustic guitar – Beginner to Intermediate
- Classical guitar – Beginner to intermediate
- Bass guitar – Beginner to Intermediate
I specialise in teaching and helping the aspiring musician to develop their aural awareness, by understanding the complex relationships of chords and scales. Once the mystery of how chords and scales work together is unravelled, the pupil can begin to further their musical journey and begin to play songs and music with an understanding and confidence that will drive them forward to whatever end result they desire.
I have spent over 25 years teaching assorted styles of electric, bass, classical and acoustic guitar at varying levels to hundreds of students. Many of these students have gone on to have either successful careers within the music industry or become guitar teachers themselves.
I have taught at all levels whether it be one to one tuition or within school, college or adult education environments.
As an experienced live performer who has played around the world with many talented musicians, I can offer the student a wealth of knowledge including:
- Live performance preparation
- What equipment to use and how to use it
- The dos and dont’s of live performance
- What to expect and how to handle any live performance problems or issues
- Advice on achieving the best sounds and tone for every occasion and musical requirement
- Practical advice on working with other musicians
Whenever possible I encourage the student to take the lead musically and to express themselves to the best of their ability. I always ensure that I interact musically and socially with all of my students to try to bring out the best in them. The only thing I ask is that all students are required to practice the methods and techniques taught in their lessons as ultimately they will only get out of the lessons what they put in !
I also offer my students advice & tuition on aspects of digital home recording. On an individual basis I will often record and provide my students with professional backing tracks & lesson materials specific to their requirements and needs. These can be invaluable to help the student progress and master difficult techniques and music theory concepts.
